AAP condemns the unwarranted moral policing by Shiv Sena goons.

26122014

The Aam Aadmi Party is appalled to see the video aired by Times Now where Shiv Sena goons led by local party functionary-Naresh Pakhre thrashed couples on a skywalk in Ulhasnagar merely for holding hands and putting their arms around each other';s shoulders. The Shiv Sainiks defended their thuggery by claiming that they were forced to act as local police didn’t take action even after filing complaints with the police.
It is ironic that Shiv Sena is part of the Government and claims that its own police don’t act on legitimate complaints. The fact is that Public Obscenity and Indecency is clearly defined in Sec 294 and 110 of Bombay Police Act and there are ample case laws which elucidate with clarity the interpretation and application of concerned sections of the law. Invariably, holding hands in public and putting hands over shoulders do not fall in the purview of both these acts, so the police have no reason to act against innocent young couples to begin with.
It may be pointed out that Vijay Chowgule, the Shiv Sena MP Candidate from Navi Mumbai and Pradeep Mhatre, the Shiv Sena Navi Mumbai Chief who are accused of rape and molestation respectively are on the run and have been absconding from the police for two weeks.
The police on its part have been giving the lame excuse that they haven';t been able to act as no complaint has come forward in the case. This illustrates the extent of terror that these goons have induced in the local populace. Nothing stops the police from taking suo-motu cognisance of the video and initiating action against these political goons under Sections of Rioting and provisions of the Public Nuisance Act.
Goons like Shiv Sena';s Naresh Pakhre deserve to be behind bars rather than defend his criminal thuggery on national TV. This isn';t the first time that such incidents have been brought to light. Such incidents go unpunished only because of political patronage bestowed on them by their political masters. It is shameful that such heinous incidents committed by self-proclaimed vigilantes and protectors of Indian Culture have become common place with parties resorting to it for cheap publicity and to reap political dividends from a section of the constituency. Since when did assaulting and thrashing young men and women become part of India Culture? It is the unpunished acts of these goons which are ‘;indecent'; and ‘;obscene'; in a constitutional liberal democracy like India.
AAP demands immediate arrest of these goons by the police taking suo motu cognisance of Times Now';s video. Should any individual feel that any member of the public is indulging in any obscene act, he or she must go and complain to the local police authorities but taking law into one';s hands cannot be tolerated whatsoever the context.
It is time that the Maharashtra Government walks the talk of its Good Governance agenda by taking action against these goons of their alliance partner.

Rangoon goes to the polls

27 12 2014
Election officials have set up 1,086 polling stations across Rangoon’s 33 townships. Polls close at 4 pm, and ballots will be tallied at each individual polling station, with the results then forwarded to City Hall. YCDC Election Commission chairman Tin Aye told The Irrawaddy last week that final results could be expected within 48 hours of the vote cut-off.
While Saturday’s polls mark a measure of democratization for a municipal body that has been appointed since 1949, critics say the election falls short of allowing for a fully representative city government. Only one member of each registered household in Rangoon, a city of some 5 million people, has been allowed to vote, and the post-election Central Committee will remain majority-appointed by Rangoon Division’s unelected chief minister.
Rangoon residents went to the polls on Saturday to elect a portion of their municipal government for the first time in more than 60 years, though initial reports indicated the landmark vote was under attended by an ill-informed electorate.
A total of 293 candidates are vying for 115 seats at the central, district and township levels of the Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC), which oversees management of Burma’s biggest city.
Early indications were of an underwhelming voter turnout. Polls opened at 6:00 am and by midday, three polling stations in Insein Township—each of which had registered 500 households as eligible to vote—had seen 148, 36 and 41 voters cast ballots, respectively.
Win Cho, a former political prisoner and rights activist, is running for one of four seats on the YCDC Central Committee, the municipal government’s highest representative body. The nine-member Central Committee is also comprised of five appointed members, including its chairman, Rangoon Mayor Hla Myint.
The 57-year-old Win Cho, who is not eligible to vote due to his criminal record, told The Irrawaddy on Saturday that his wife had run into problems at their local polling station.
“I have found that some officials at the polling station had no idea about the procedures,” he said. “My name appeared on the voting list. That’s not what is supposed to happen. After my complaints, they fixed it and let my wife cast the vote.”Ms Suu Kyi is the daughter of Myanmar’s iconic General Aung San   was assassinated in 1947.
Suu Kyi wants reforms in Myanmar to continue and constitutional amend to come for her to stand for presidency. Her call for the constitution to be amended to allow her to stand for the presidency was said in her appearance in BBC today.
Suu Kyi was born in Myanmar but lived in the UK after studying at Oxford University where she met her husband Michael Aris. Back to Myanmar in 1988 as the country was experiencing a period of political upheaval. She took part and eventually led the revolt against then-dictator, General Ne Win.
The protests were brutally suppressed by the army who seized power in a coup that year, calling elections in May 1990.But the junta refused to hand over control after the NLD won a majority vote despite the fact that Ms Suu Kyi was under house arrest and disqualified from standing.
A process of reform has been under way in Myanmar since November 2010, when military rule was replaced by a new military-backed civilian government.
Yangon went to the polls today for the first municipal elections in six decades, with voters hoping for change as the city booms, despite knowing little about the candidates or their policies.
The election will be closely watched as a test of the country’s democratic credentials ahead of a landmark nationwide poll slated for November next year.
For many the ballot for the Yangon City Development Committee is the first chance to vote under the country’s quasi-civilian government, which replaced outright military rule in 2011.
It is also a rare opportunity to have a say over the future of Myanmar’s biggest city, where residents grumble about runaway construction and soaring rents, worsening traffic, poor sanitation and weak pollution control.
“It’s very difficult to have big expectations as this is the first YCDC election for 60 years,” Khin Maung Tun, 50, a resident in Thaketa township told AFP. “But we came here to vote and show our spirit.”

Sharing Infrastructure, Capital & Knowledge Keys To Success

24122014
December24, 2014 (C) Ravinder Singh ravinderinvent@gmail.com
Gross inefficiency of Indian economy is reflected by India’s share in
global wealth at just 1.4% 2014 which was 1% in 2000 but in per capita
terms Wealth Growth compared to the world average is 0.1% growth in 14
years.
Last 16 years of NDA and UPA stable governments that lasted full term
had been extremely poor. Median income of Indians has fallen behind by
around 30% in 2000-2014 period.
Global Wealth Data Book 2014
Wealth 2000    Wealth 2014    Median 2000    Median 2014    Growth    Percent
China    $ 4,664b/ 4%    $21,404b/8.1%    $2703    $7033    $4330    160%
India    $1,163b/ 1%    $3,604b/ 1.4%    $588    $1006    $418    71%
World    $117t    $263.2t    $1740    $3641    $1901    109%
Three Key Features missing in Indian Growth Agenda are
1.    Sharing of Infrastructure,
2.    Sharing of Capital,
3.    Sharing of Knowledge & IPR
This has left India as most ‘Uncompetitive Nation in the World’ baring
some Tailoring & BPO kind of Labor jobs India is uncompetitive in
everything.
1. Sharing of Infrastructure: India is not sharing High Cost Critical
Infrastructure -
India has Grossly Under Utilized Optic Fiber Network that can provide
Broadband Multimedia Services at practically no cost is not shared but
India has opted for DTH, 2G, 3G, 4G for Data & Multimedia. Telecom
Tower & Spectrum are not shared leading high cost and poor quality of
service. Power infrastructure is not shared – leading Monopoly & High
Cost & Poor Quality of Service. Why can’t NTPC sell power directly to
consumers? Coal Mines are shared – instead of 4-10 Mining Companies
engaged India has hundreds Uneconomical & Inefficient.
2. Sharing of Capital: Entire Value Chain of Industry is FUNDED BY
BANKS – JUST in time Supply reduces Capital Investment By 50% in Japan
that made it Globally Competitive. Raw Materials, Ancillaries,
Assembly Lines, Retail of Cars involve Bank Funding and Working
Capital – that possibly DOUBLES COST.
3. Sharing of Knowledge & IPR: EU Study reveals 91% of EU Exports are
IPR intensive – to India’s ZERO. IPR based products and jobs command
Many Times more price and 67% higher salary than conventional.
These three shall make INDIA GLOBALLY MOST Competitive.

                                                         Inline image 4
VII.            Incomplete disclosure of information in the donations report
a.       INC has not followed the format prescribed by the ECI in declaring its donations details. The column for declaring PAN details of donors is not provided in the contributions reports. Without the PAN details, it would be difficult to link the donors against their donations and hence trace the money trail.
b.      A total of Rs 2.88 lakhs was declared by INC as an outstanding amount thereby not declaring the mode of payment of these funds.
c.       A total of Rs 17.40 lakhs was declared by the National Parties without disclosing mode of payment of these donations.
d.      A total of Rs 6.66 crores was declared by INC, CPI and CPM as amounts received by cheque/DD without disclosing corresponding cheque/DD numbers, name of the bank/ branch on which the cheque was drawn, etc. which would aid in tracking the donations. These incomplete details account for 9% of the total donations received in cheque/DD/ fund transfer.

Recommendations of ADR

a.       The Supreme Court gave a judgment on September 13, 2013 declaring that no part of a candidate’s affidavit should be left blank. Similarly, no part of the Form 24A submitted by political parties providing details of donations above Rs 20,000 should be blank.
b.      There is ambiguity in cash donations declared by INC which amounted to Rs 1.578 crores in FY 2013-14. While CPI has declared that the party’s donations by individuals were by means of collections/ levy/ memberships, INC has not made any such remarks though it is part of the prescribed format of the Election Commission of India. Thus, there is a need for clarity in large amounts of cash donations by individuals.
c.       Full details of all donors should be made available for public scrutiny under the RTI. Some countries where this is done include Bhutan, Nepal, Germany, France, Italy, Brazil, Bulgaria, the US and Japan. In none of these countries is it possible for 75% of the source of funds to be unknown, but at present it is so in India.
d.   The National and regional political parties must provide all information on their finances under the Right to Information Act. This will go a long way to strengthen political parties, elections and democracy. For more information, please refer to http://adrindia.org/content/political-parties-unitedly-boycott-cic-hearing-non-compliance-political-parties-under-rti

The Qatari-owned Al-Jazeera news network has shut down its Egyptian channel, resolving a major source of tension between the two states, AP said. Mubasher Misr will be incorporated into a new region-wide station. Monday’s decision came two days after a Qatari envoy met Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, the first such meeting since he was elected in June. The Houthis have been fighting the Sunni Islamist Al-Qaeda and allied tribesmen since its gunmen captured Sanaa in September.

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott on Tuesday said another attack was likely, as mourners paid tribute to the victims of the fatal Sydney cafe siege, AFP said. “A briefing from the security agencies today indicated that there has been a heightened level of terrorist chatter,” Abbott said after a meeting of his National Security Committee. “It’s important that people remain alert and aware as well as reassured that our police and security agencies are doing everything they humanly can to keep us safe,”

Incident of acid attack exposes deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi

24122014
The Aam Aadmi Party expresses its deep concern over shocking incident of acid attack on a 26-year-old lady doctor in Delhi on Tuesday morning. The incident took place in full public view and was caught on CCTV camera installed at the location. The victim is struggling for her life in All India Institute of Medical Sciences with severe burns on her face.
The fact that the two assailants carried out the attack in full public view shows that there was no fear of police in their minds. This clearly exposes the poor state of affairs on law on order front in national capital. Despite all the lip service by the ruling BJP, the incident shows that it has failed to improve law and order situation in Delhi.
The Aam Aadmi Party wants to remind that in view of rising incidents of acid attack, the Supreme Court had banned open sale of acids. Delhi Police has completely failed to implement the Supreme Court. After Nibhaya incident, amendments had been made in the criminal law and punishment for acid attacks was enhanced to life imprisonment. That too seems to have failed to act as a deterrent due to lax policing in national capital.
Most shocking is the fact that the incident has taken place after the incident of rape of a corporate executive by a cab driver. It clearly shows that the government and the police have not learnt any lesson from the incident of rape.
It’s shocking that the BJP, the party in power, could not spare a minute to express its concern and pain over the incident. It shows BJP’s insensitivity towards the issue of women security.
The Aam Aadmi Party demands that the assailants should immediately be arrested and brought to the book. The party also demands that the government and the police should come out with a concrete plan to ensure safety for women in the city.

A non-fiction memoir of an Orthopaedic Surgeon-cum-theatre impresario ~

New Delhi, December 24, 2014: Renowned actress and social activist Shabana Azmi launched a new non-fiction book‘In And out of Theatres’ in the capital yesterday written by Dr. Brijeshwar Singh, an esteemed Orthopaedic surgeon-cum-theatre impresario at India International Centre.

A collection of short stories ‘In And out of Theatres’ are memoirs of real people; of pain and suffering; and yet of hope and belief. Dr. Brijeshwar Singh has cleverly ‘weaved in’ two parts of the world together to convey life’s philosophy through his debut book.Born in a small town of Bareilly and graduated from KGMC Lucknow, Dr. Brijeshwar is as passionate about the literary theatre and the performing arts, as he is about the orthopaedics.

While unveiling the book, Shabana Azmi said, “A compelling read and well articulated. His book allows us to get rare insights into the emotional seesaw doctors’ face when dealing with complicated medical cases. Dr Brijeshwar though is a doctor but has a spirit of an artist and his boundless commitment to both the world shines through his debut book.”

Along with Shabana Azmi, the occasion was graced by renowned names like Mr. Tarun Vijay, Member of Parliament and Mr. Santosh Gangwar, Minister of State for Textiles alongwith Dr. P K Dave, Former Director, AIIMS and Mr. Shishir Priyadarshi, Director-WTO, Geneva.

Commenting on his debut book Dr. Brijeshwar Singh said, “I feel humbled to have such esteemed people who have gathered here for unveiling of my first book. I would like to thank all my patients and theatre colleagues, who actually inspired me to pen down my thoughts. I have tried narrating all my stories in the simplest yet effective manner. I hope to receive positive responses from the readers.”

The stories feel connected even as they vary in time, content and the ending. The characters in each story don’t know each other; they come from different life stages and through them Dr. Brijeshwar narrated diverse experiences. But the thread running through them is common and strong – it is of hope, of belief, of strength in diversity, and above all of the power of compassion and good. In some ways it can be said that this is both Dr Brijeshwar’s tribute and gift to his patients.

Chipko Andolan Within CONGRESS

27 12 2014

Saturday, 27 December, 2014
Chipko Andolan Within CONGRESS
December27, 2014 (C) Ravinder Singh ravinderinvent@gmail.comPolitically Congress was reduced to JUNK grade four years ago when it
couldn’t stand up to Arvind Kejriwal and Anna Hazare and defend over a
100 years old party that ruled and won elections with clean majority
most of the time.I don’t subscribe to the idea of First Post – replacements of Rahul
Gandhi in Congress are even worse many inducted through Rajya Sabha,
are not even state level leaders, don’t have any fighting quality and
caliber otherwise Congress wouldn’t have gone in to electoral battles
only to lose. All these Secondary Leaders had CAPITALIST Mindset
contrary to Traditional Ideology.
Every one in Congress knew Rahul is not in tune with ground reality –
even after camping in poorest and backward villages off and on –
substitutes have no idea of India or were simply ‘Timid and
Incompetent With No Political Base.’
Congress top level two Leaders can’t even think of SPLIT – unlike pre
1980 when there were Factions within who were opposed to Socialistic
Policies.
Einstein in the party Jairam Ramesh was extreme dullard –
-    as Industry Minister he didn’t support MSMEs and didn’t Protect
Indian Intellectual Property, every one knows MSMEs contributes max
growth.
-    as Power Minister didn’t support Multi-Purpose Hydro Power, Energy
Efficiency, Load Management, Correct Meters & Billing and neglected
Rural Electrification.
-    as Environment Minister sabotaged Bt Trials – even trials were put
on hold when Bt Cotton was 100% success, every Cotton farmer was ready
to pay many times more for a packet of seeds than MRP. Instead of
Promoting ‘SUSTAINABLE MINING’ he stopped mining activity completely.
-    as Rural Development Minister was preoccupied with Land Bill only
after letting Corporate Acquire Thousands of acres of land for SEZs or
Bogus Programs like MNREGA than ensuring Full Time Jobs promoting Food
Processing & MSMEs in rural India as an example.
-    UPA completed two five year terms due to Manmohan Singh honestly
Transferring Central Taxes to states.
-    Bogus INVENTOR Sam Pitroda MISLED GOI for 25 years is shown the door
by BJP but Congress relied on him for Total Stupidity. When India was
to introduce Indigenous Optic Fiber Based Networks, 3G & 4G for mobile
applications 2G auctions harmed India and landed Government in
trouble.
-    Son of former CM, Shashidhar Reddy was TOTAL DISASTER as CEO of NDMA
– from 2006 Surat Floods to Kosi, Floods in Punjab, Uttarkhand and
Kashmir Floods.
-    Defense Minister couldn’t handle ‘Date of Birth Issue’ such was his
INCOMPETENCE and ordered CBI investigations on false complaints,
failed to procure Defense Hardware.
Secondary Congress leaders operated as Office Babus only concerned
with pushing files Up & Down without taking any decisions
without Correcting Mistakes without Innovating & Addressing Problems.

Russia’s NATO envoy says Arctic should be zone ‘free of military activity’

The Arctic should remain a zone with a minimum of military activity, RIA Novosti quoted Russia’s permanent representative to NATO as saying on Friday. There are no direct military risks today in the region, according to Aleksandr Grushko. Speaking in Brussels, he said that “Cold War” rhetoric should be put aside. “We are carefully watching how NATO is turning its focus to the Arctic region,” he said, adding that “the less influence from military and political organizations in that region, the better it will be for solving tasks set before the Arctic states.”

A topless FEMEN protester who tried to snatch a figurine of Baby Jesus from the manger at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City following the Pope’s Christmas message has been arrested, the Vatican said on Friday. 28 12 2014

North Korea blames US for Internet blackout

28 12 2014
Pyongyang has accused Washington of causing prolonged Internet outages in North Korea, which coincided with the recent controversy over the hacking of the film studio Sony Pictures. “The United States…has begun disrupting the Internet operations of the main media outlets of our republic,” the North Korean National Defense Commission said in a statement, comparing the US to “children…playing hide and seek.” The statement also called on US President Barack Obama to fix the country’s “hostile” policy towards North Korea, “if he seeks peace on US soil.” American officials have said Washington was not involved in the cyber attack. North Korea experienced web problems last week and a complete outage of nearly nine and half hours Monday before links were largely restored. US tech companies said reasons could have ranged from tech glitches to an attack by a hacker group.
North Korea’s 3G mobile phone networks and internet were paralyzed again on Saturday evening, China’s Xinhua news agency reported. The North Korean government has blamed the US for the blackout. The US said it would retaliate against North Korea, after the US blamed Pyongyang for a hacking attack on Sony Pictures because of a satire movie they had made about a plot to assassinate Kim Jong Un. Most of North Korea’s internet traffic passes through Chinese routers and some have suggested that it may be China behind the internet attack.

Swedish PM Stefan Lofven said his government has struck a deal with the opposition. This would allow the minority coalition of the Social Democrats and Greens to continue to stay in power, sidelining the anti-immigration Sweden Democrats who hold the balance of power in parliament. “This agreement means that Sweden can be governed even in a difficult parliamentary situation,” Lofven, who had planned to call a vote for March 22 after losing a budget vote in December told media.

The plane took off from Surabaya (Indonesia) at 5.20 am local time and was scheduled to land at Singapore’s Changi Airport at 8.30 am.

Raghubar Das takes oath as J’khand CM

Raghubar Das takes oath as J’khand CM; Stalemate continues on Govt formation in J&K
Dec 28,
Senior BJP leader Raghubar Das took oath as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand today. Governor Sayyed Ahmed administered him the oath of office and secrecy at the Morhabadi ground in Ranchi. The 59-year-old BJP leader, is the first non-tribal Chief Minister of the state. BJP MLAs CP Singh, Neelkanth Singh Munda and Louis Marandi and AJSU MLA Chandra Prakash Choudhri also took oath as Ministers.
AIR correspondent reports, BJP leader Raghubar Das is now the 10th Chief Minister of Jharkhand, and incidentally the first non-tribal Chief Minister in the state’s 14 years history. The new Cabinet is meeting today late afternoon to kick start the new phase. The swearing-in ceremony witnessed positive signs for the new government as ex- Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Arjun Munda and Babulal Marandi were also present at the Birsa Munda football Stadium of Ranchi. The task before the new government is enormous in terms of the priorities set by new Chief Minster himself, and people will keenly observe the functioning of this government.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah were to attend the swearing in ceremony. But dense fog in Delhi forced them to cancel their visit to Jharkhand. In his tweets, Prime Minister congratulated the people of Jharkhand after getting an absolute majority in state elections held recently. Mr Modi said the people have voted for stability and wished that Jharkhand scales new heights of progress in the coming year. The Prime minister also extended his wishes to Raghubar Das on taking over as Jharkhand’s new Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, stalemate continues on Government formation in Jammu and Kashmir on the sixth day today with nothing concrete happening even as back door talks between leaders of various parties are going on. Meanwhile, looking for the “best deal”, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asserted that it is in no hurry to enter an alliance either with Bharatiya Janta Party at the cost of its ideology or with National Conference (NC) against the aspirations of people of the state. Reiterating that the party is looking at the implications of the possible alliance options, PDP spokesman Nayeem Akhtar said that in this scenario, Party wants to go ahead with due deliberations within the party and then decide the best deal for the state, a deal which would enable it to deliver both on political and developmental fronts. AIR Srinagar Correspondent reports that the continuing political stalemate over the government formation in Jammu and Kashmir may force imposition of Governor’s rule by January 20, 2015 when the Assembly will get automatically dissolved after the end of its six year term.
AIR correspondent reports, while exploring the prospects of forging an alliance with the BJP, PDP has reportedly sought assurances from BJP on certain issues mainly safeguarding Article 370 and revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). According to PDP Chief Spokesperson, Naeem Akhtar, it is not a question of forming a government only saying that the party will take its own time in carrying the best deal for Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, PDP also does not seem enthused to the option of a “grand alliance” with National Conference as according to PDP Chief Spokesman National Conference created a mess in the state during its six-year rule.

Rahul & Co. is in denial mode – not ready to accept mistakes they
regularly made since 2004 Congress unexpectedly returned to power with
around 140 seats and formed government again with 205 when majority
number is 273, Didn’t find anything wrong at loss in Delhi Elections
to Arvind Kejriwal a year ago.

Rahul & Co. couldn’t FIND LEADER to Compete With Narendra Modi.

Rahul & Co. broadly speaking has no IDEA OF POLITICS – Congress was
allied to several regional parties but just before Elections deserted
them and Fought Against Them in elections.

Rahul & Co. Failed to Communicate Well With Voters and Didn’t INSPIRE
YOUNG VOTERS. In fact don’t know how to Connect With People – For
Example Rahul always used to say ‘Hum Logon Ko Shakti Denge’ – we
shall empower people when people required ‘Higher Wages, More Money &
Jobs and Greater Share in National Resources.’

Rahul & Co. relied on ‘Einsteins Jairam Ramesh & Sam Pitroda plus many
Foreign Educated who ACTUALLY WERE MISLEADING GOI’ – their Policies &
Programs were Flawed and Corrupted.

Rahul & Co. failed to Introduce Latest Technology & Promote MSMEs.

First Congress didn’t Develop Cadre even when it was Under Represented
in Lok Sabha from 2004 itself.

Second it is important to know Congress leaders ‘Contributed Less to
Party than Benefits when norm is Contribute Much More Than Take Out’.
Didn’t nurture their constituency and were not available to redress
public grievances. Visiting constituency once or twice a year by
Congress top leaders and depending entirely on few close aids for feed
back is not professional politics.

Third Congress didn’t Define Its Core AGENDA and Economic Strategy.

Fourth Congress had outward Pro-Poor Agenda but most of its Ministers
had Capitalist pro-corporate mindset.

Fifth Congress Ministers ‘MISMANAGED ECONOMY’ Neglected Farmers since
2009, Workers and Minorities.

Sixth proximity to Corporate led to Corruption Cases – Congress
preferred Fire Fighting than removing the cause of fire.

Seventh Congress didn’t INFUSE FRESH BLOOD. 56 out of 87 in J&K
elections are first time MLAs.

Eighth Congress Look for Some Lame Duck Excuse to justify Serial
Losses – Congress Was Simply Anti-India – few Corporate Families were
advanced Rs.50,00,000 crore Bank Loans – rest of 99.99% Indians just
Rs.10,00,000 crores.

[Gopalakrishnan R & Vishnu Ravi Shankar] Bhilwara, Rajasthan: Karnataka men surprised Kerala in their opening encounter of the 65th Senior National Basketball Championship 2014. The athletic Karnataka side led by centre Arvind proved too quick for the ageing Kerala squad. Arvind’s 31 points included multiple in game dunks that energised his side.
Defending women’s champions Chhattisgarh kept Maharashtra at bay to start its title defence on a high. Unfortunately, men’s defending champions Tamil Nadu fell to a full strength Uttarakhand side that had international centre Amrit Pal Singh showcase a mammoth performance on both ends of the floor with his tireless rebounding and excellent mid range shooting touch.  In other Level 1 matches, the Southern women from Kerala and Tamil Nadu registered easy wins over Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh respectively, and Indian Railways men beat Chhattisgarh in a tight 76-66 match.
Among the lower level teams, Assam women beat Odisha in a cliff-hanger, winning 54-53, and their male counterparts too handed Odisha another defeat winning 78-62. Surprising lower level teams Madhya Pradesh women and Maharashtra men too started their 2014 campaign with assured wins over Chandigarh and Madhya Pradesh respectively.
Earlier this morning, Level 1 games tipped off on Day one of the Championship, with no real surprises in the matches held on the indoor wooden court (Court 1). The Kerala and Tamil Nadu women picked up comfortable wins against opponents Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh respectively. In the men’s matches thus far on Court 1, the Indian Railways withstood a tough fight from the Chhattisgarh team to register a 10-point victory 76-66. M. With the help of Mumbai Police, they will ensure strict actions against those who will violate the law. These groups will work until sunrise to assure safety in the city”.

Rajas Karnik, who enjoys late night clubbing says, “Drink-drive is defiantly an offensive crime, and this time will be more aggressive and punishable as Maharashtra Shiv Vahtuk Sena through its group of members will be monitoring it along with city cops.”

This year, there have been 13,895 cases of drink-driving till November, 30 and the total fine collected has been over Rs3.21 crore. COAST GUARD INTERCEPTS SUSPECT BOAT CARRYING EXPLOSIVES

2012015
An intelligence based midnight operation was conducted by Coast Guard ships and aircraft to intercept a suspect fishing boat in Arabian Sea near Indo-Pak maritime boundary, approximately 365 km from Porbander.
As per the intelligence inputs received on 31st December, a Pakistani fishing boat from Keti Bunder near Karachi was planning some illicit transaction in Arabian Sea. Based on the input, Coast Guard aircraft undertook sea air coordinated search and located the suspect fishing boat. Thereafter, Coast Guard ship on patrol in area was diverted and intercepted the unlit boat at about midnight of 31st December in position 365 km West-South West of Porbandar.
Coast Guard ship warned the fishing boat to stop for further investigation of the crew and cargo; however, the boat increased speed and tried to escape towards Pakistani side of maritime boundary. The hot pursuit continued for approx one hour and Coast Guard ship managed to stop the fishing boat after firing warning shots. Four persons were seen on the boat who disregarded all warnings by the Coast Guard ship to stop and cooperate with investigation. Soon thereafter, the crew hid themselves in below deck compartment and set the boat on fire, which resulted in explosion and major fire on the boat.
Due to darkness, bad weather and strong winds, the boat and persons on board could not be saved or recovered. The boat burnt and sank in the same position, in early hours of 1st January. Coast Guard ships and aircraft are continuing operations in area to search for any possible survivor. Coast Guard and other security agencies are maintaining high vigil in maritime and coastal areas since last couple of months due several inputs on seaward threat.

The AAP has always innovated on fund-raising and introduced new concepts in India, ranging from diverse and completely transparent fund-raising events to online donations and now Aap-Ka-Daan, a mobile app for collecting small cash from our donors.
In continuation of its fund-raising initiatives to mobilise resources for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, the AAP is pleased to announce its new campaign, the #IFundHonestParty Challenge.
This is a donor-get-donor programme appealing to donors to take the challenge, make a donation and send an appeal to 10 of their friends and family members to also donate and participate in the challenge. As more people join the challenge, a network of donors, referrals and participants will be built and the message of #IFundHonestParty shall spread to a wide number of people.
The #IFundHonestParty campaign will also figure prominently in the AAP’s ongoing political campaign. The party will highlight the unique differentiation of AAP from other parties which do not declare approximately 80% of their donations from regulators. AAP is looking to increase its overall donation reach with this campaign. In the current donation drive, which was kicked-off on 26 November to commemorate AAP’s foundation day, the party has been successful in raising donations via Rs. 2611/- campaign; 20k lunch/dinner events and also a unique volunteer-led donation campaign on twitter under the RT2Donate moiker.

Party’s national secretary Pankaj Gupta said through this campaign, the AAP want more and more citizens of this country to become direct stakeholders in our party and hence in defining the politics of this country.

Telecom Scooping $20b Than Investing In Optic Broadband

2012015
January01, 2015 (C) Ravinder Singh ravinderinvent@gmail.com
Going by the TOI story Telecom Department or DoT is to auction 570
MHZ* of spectrum for 1.2 lakh crores – this comes to just Rs.210 per
MHz when in 2010 ‘5 Mhz of 3G spectrum was sold out for Rs 16,751
crore or Rs.3350 crore per MHz’. * [airwaves 60 Mhz in 2G and 330 Mhz
in 3G, and 180 Mhz of existing airwaves.]
When GoI scoops Rs.1,20,000 crores as License Fee – just to recover
this with interest and profits would cost Consumers over Rs.500,000
crores over 10 years or Rs.5000 per head for 100 crore connections –
This doesn’t include Cost of Mobile Devices which could take Annual
Imports Bill of Electronics & Mobile Devices to $400b by 2020.
This is Suicidal Policy driving India in to Financial or Economic Melt Down.
At Rs.210 crore per MHz DoT gets practically nothing even as 2G and 3G
tariffs are too high presently compared to landline charges of Rs.1.25
for 3 minute call. Assuming minimum spectrum required is 2×4.2 Mhz or
2×5 Mhz blocks – is Rs.1764 crores or Rs.2100 crores. This is no
improvement over SCAMMED rate of Rs.1658 crores for Pan India Licence.
But biggest concern is that GoI is neglecting INDIGENOUS Optic Fiber
based Broadband Services.
Already Quality of Service 2G Voice has declined and call drop rate
zoomed due to Extended Use of 2G for providing data services.
Worst of All DoT is not Introducing ‘Optic Fiber Based Services
Broadband Services’ – one Connection Providing VoIP, IPTV, Broadband,
Wifi, Video Conferencing etc.
Developed countries are already Experimenting with 1000 Mbps Data
Speeds per user – 100 Mbps data speed is already a standard but DoT
promotes Outdated Costly & Very Slow 2G and 3G services compared to
present global standards.
Optic Fiber based Wire Networks can service Future Technologies
without ‘Upgrades of Technology’.
Finally there is no change in WEIRD PITRODA POLICY of Wireless
Broadband in Cities and Optic Fiber Based Wire Services in Rural Areas
where just Rs.500 worth of copper wire can deliver 100 MBPS connection
or even 1000 MBPS through Ethernet. In 2003 ISP in view of defect in
distribution server provided direct connection – I was getting over 80
MBPS speed which was over 1000 Times Faster than my contracted speed
of 64 KBPS. 4G Service can deliver Wireless Broadband to Tens of
thousands of consumers in scores of villages at low cost by a Shared
Tower.
In 2003 I was getting TV Channels on my computer with a Video Card
also before Encryption of TV Broadcast.

Indian Railways & Kerala women stay undefeated

2012015
Bhilwara, Rajasthan: Playing to their pedigree, the international stars of Indian Railways and Kerala kept their sides undefeated in the 65th Senior National Basketball Championship 2014-15. Kerala’s Jeena PS and Neenumol combined for more than 50 points in an early morning Level 1 league match against Maharashtra on New Year’s Day. The duo’s scoring had them take an 11 point lead at the end of the first quarter. The next two quarters saw Maharashtra fight back thanks to some effective work on both ends of the floor by ex-international Manisha Dange. Dange would go on to average a double double with 26 points and 13 rebounds, but Kerala’s size advantage at all the front court positions meant that they stayed ahead, eventually winning 84-69.
Indian Railways women stayed on top of their Level 1 Pool by running roughshod over a young Punjab side. As many as six players scored in double digits in this effortless team offense for Railways. The first and last quarters especially had Railways completely destroying Punjab offensively and clamping down on them on the defensive end in this lop-sided 113-54 win.
Delhi’s women team too has been on a tear, and sisters Pratima Singh and Prashanti Singh took their side to a close 72-64 win over Tamil Nadu.

UPSWC affairs in UP from BSP to SP

1012015
As soon as power was exchanged in UP from BSP to SP, Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission ( UPSWC ) receipt counters witnessed spurt in complaints from victim women  of UP  and situation is even worsening with SP nearing to complete its third year in Power. All the inaugurations and launchings, made by  Akhilesh Yadav, in the name of Women-empowerment or in the name of stalling the crimes against women etc. have proved to be mere rhetoric with no actual respite to the
half-population of the largest ( population-wise) state of India.
RTI data received under RTI from UPSWC paints a seriously grim picture of two & half year rule of Akhilesh Yadav, with is exactly half tenure of present Government (provided claims made by  Laxmikant Bajpai  of BJP about SP 70 MLAs being in touch with BJP are not true ).RTI data immensely downgrades Akhilesh Yadav  with respect to his predecessor Mayawati when it comes to safety and security of women in UP.
RTI data also exposes UP police department’s inability to properly
address cases related to crime against women because its an eternal
truth that a women approaches women commission only when she fails to get justice from the police.
Snapshots of data comparison of ending two & half year rule of
Mayawati & two & half year rule of Akhilesh Yadav reveals that crime against women increased by 42% in Tipu’s Raj as compared to Bahinji’s.
Victim Women became more helpless  in SP’s rule as disposal rate of
complaints received in UPSWC decreased by 45% as compared to BSP’s Rule. Even UPWC failed to properly address the traumatic problems of half-population of UP as pendency rose by a whopping 557% in Akhiles’s regime when compared to Mayawati’s.  Disposal rate at UPWC was 85% in Mayaraj which has diminished to a mere 33% in Akhileshraj despite there being 25 members working at UPSWC ( including Chairman ).
RTI shows that UPSWC’s other than salary budget is Rs. 1 crore but
during 8 & a half months time UPSWC has consumed less than 40 lakh rupees meaning thereby that during 71% time of this fiscal UPSWC has consumed 40% of its fiscal non-salary allocations. To me, this is just because of slack, indifferent, insensitive and corrupt mindset of members at UPWC towards problems of women who are there just to show-off there position and later be a part of general- loot-culture like all other  government departments  consuming there budgets during end of  month of march in that fiscal year.
If Akhilesh Yadav will still say that as a CM, he really feels the
woes of Women living in UP and is serious to address & resolve them?
To me he is only a good actor which he should be because he has long
been in the company of acting-stalwarts like Big B, Jaya Prada, Jaya
Bacchan and many more. But People don’t want actors acting while
sitting in the chair of Rulers. People want honest hearts and when one inaugurates something with honest heart, the whole world tastes
fruit of success cultivated out of this inauguration.
The big question is whether situation will not deteriorate in rest 2 &
½ year rule Akhilesh and will Akhilesh be able to move nearer and/or touch the benchmarks on women-safety, set by his predecessor Mayawati, leave alone the question of surpassing them.
My straight answer is, not at all and this answer is just because in
his first half tenure as CM, Akhilesh has, through his various acts
have proved that he is too immature a politician to effectively rule a
state like UP.
These are my views .Data Excel Sheet & RTI papers are being attached for wider circulation in public interest.

-Sincerely Yours,
Urvashi Sharma
